Why Micro Mist®

Micro Mist is a unique machine that has been developed in association with the Quality personnel from leading pharmaceutical companies. It is a machine that is specifically developed for the purpose of clean room sterilisation for air and surfaces. Read more about why Micro Mist is the best suited machine for your infection control needs.

Floor Wetting

Floor wetting is caused when the droplet size generated by the ULV fogger is large. Micro Mist generates a validated submicron size droplet that does not cause floor wetting at all. Floor wetting defeats the entire purpose of infection control where mopping is required after fogging. Learn how Micro Mist is able to produce a truly dry fog and avoids floor wetting to give the maximum efficacy and save expensive disinfectant for you at the same time.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does “Micro Mist® Aerosol Generator” differ from foggers?

Foggers are used in agricultural applications. Droplet size here is more than 10 microns. Aerosol generator is a design to generate droplet size in sub-micron dedicated for use in pharmaceutical, food, biotech and healthcare industries. Foggers create floor wetting effect and aerosol generators don’t.

What is micron? How is it calculated?

This can be derived mathematically. In simple language, a water-drop of 1mm diameter, when sheared into 1000 pieces, each of it is of micron size. This means 1mm diameter droplet contains 1000 microns.

Does floor wetting have something to do with relative humidity?

Yes! When fogging is carried out where %RH exceeds 70%, air saturates. As the dew point is reached, the water lands on the floor. Larger droplet size motivates this phenomenon speedily.

What are the ideal atmospheric conditions for aqueous fumigation?

Ambient of 24oC @ RH 45 % is supposed to be an ideal condition for aqueous fogging. %RH can be brought down by using de-humidifiers.

Do air-conditioners condition the humidity?

In well-designed air conditioning systems, de-humidifiers / heater coils are fitted in the ducting. The humidity is controlled here to the desired level.

Does this hold good for “window type air conditioners”?

No. Window type or split air conditioners just bring down the temperature inside the room. They are like heat pumps. These units cannot tackle humidity. Since this is not a completely sealed system, you can call them “bacteria injecting pumps”.

What is “zero” bacteria condition? Can it be really achieved?

It depends on the classification of the clean room. Normally, a count of 8 to 10 is also assumed to be zero condition. Refer pharmacopoeia standards for different classifications.

What's the ideal proportion of disinfectant to water media?

Healthcare industry solely depended on gaseous media for decontamination of air in the past. Fogging aqueous formulations is a recent introduction. Since the relative humidity vs ambient temperature differs from place to place, the water diluent quantity should differ accordingly. In coastal areas, the %RH is very high. This indicates that the content of diluent is adjustable from place to place. Gouri Engineering Pvt. Ltd. Has conducted exhaustive study on this phenomenon and can part guidance to their customers free of charge.

At places we have come across people saying, “We found fungi after fumigation”. What is the solution?

Agricultural foggers when used inject excessive moisture in the atmosphere. As a thumb rule thy recommend a liter of aqueous formulation per 1000 cft. This lack of awareness on the laws of psychometric boosts the moisture leading to generation of fungi. The micron size of droplet plays a major role here. Aerosol generators manufactured by Gouri Engineering Pvt. Ltd. eliminates this problem.
